Pathlights employs more than 70 professionals to address the aging needs of our communities. Our diverse team consists of social workers with advanced degrees and certifications, care planning experts, and individuals with backgrounds in areas of safety, mental health, and disabilities.
The healthcare, aging, and disability environments are ever changing. Pathlights’ staff meets regularly to examine, discuss, and modify the approach to care and learn about the latest advances from local, state and national experts as well as through continuing education and certifications.
CURRENT JOB OPENINGS
Technology Trainer / Facilitator
Pathlights has developed a 6-part technology instruction series specifically for adults ages 60+. We are looking for someone committed to empowering older adults to use technology and who possesses the knowledge and skills to coordinate and facilitate small classes of 6 students.
Our goal with this program is to increase older adults’ comfort using technology and provide them with tools to help them age more successfully. The course also offers a place for students to connect, ask questions without feeling awkward, and learn at their own pace. The course topics cover: technology basics, trouble shooting, online security, deciphering social media, better aging through technology, resources.
This person will work directly with our library partners and others where needed to schedule, promote, and facilitate the course. The program will be rolled out at 4 new locations with a goal of providing two sessions at each location.
This position is part-time, hourly (average 15-20 hours per week).
Requirements:
- Familiar with MS Office Suite, web browsers, basic computer trouble shooting, and the use of online health care provider portals.
- Experience in presenting, teaching, and/or tutoring.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of a high school diploma
- Ability to relate well and communicate clearly with people, especially older adults
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible and consumer oriented
- Previous office experience helpful
All staff must successfully pass a criminal background check. You will need your own auto and valid insurance.
